It's been awhile since I last posted on the blog, hello again! Thanks for visiting and taking the time to read my post.
For those of you that don't know, it's DineLA week. If you haven't followed me yet on Snapchat (username: @azusatakano), I had the opportunity to attend two participating restaurants yesterday, and the day before thanks to my friend Linh. You can visit the restaurants' website by clicking the title.
FAITH & FLOWER
Faith & Flower was the first restaurant we went to, and drinks were in order. The English Milk Punch was different from anything I've drank before. Its base liquor is rum, and I'm not a huge fan of rum but this was good. Although everything on the menu was delicious, my favorite was the NY Steak Tartare. I like eating raw food (it's the Japanese in me, I grew up eating sashimi) so the tartare had great texture, especially with the dollop of miso cream on top. To end the night, we both experienced what's called "Leap of Faith." It's a specialty cocktail using absinthe; I won't ruin the surprise for you, you'd just have to go there yourself and try it.
We came to Terrine for their lunch menu, since we had just finished a hiking event in Hollywood. We sat near the windows for the light, but I heard the patio area is much cuter. Their lunches were light and wholesome; the foie gras was amazingly buttery. They cooked the burger's meat to a medium raw which melted in my mouth. The staff and waiters were extremely attentive, their hospitality was greatly appreciated.
Of course, there are other restaurants that are part of the dineLA experience. Be sure to head over to their website to see the entire list of restaurants and their respective menus.
